Aileen Alberts, who works as a General Manager at Fordmill Nursing Home in Montrose, will be taking on the amazing and gruelling Aviemore Ski Road challenge with a friend on Wednesday 25th August.
It is a serious challenge intended for road bikers looking for the Scottish version of Mont Ventoux. You ride from Aviemore to Cairngorm Mountain, then up to the Lecht Ski Centre via Aviemore. The total route equals approximately 136 KM’s / 85 Miles with 1686m /5531 ft of climbing. You can split the route over a couple of days or try and smash it in one day. Aileen and her friend intend to do it in one day!
Aileen is fundraising for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, and we wish Aileen lots of luck with her training and the incredible challenge ahead!
Aileen is very grateful for the donations already received to help older people and adults living with a disability. If you would like to support Aileen, please visit her online donation page.
