For the second year running we have a Barchester team taking part in Great North Run on Sunday 8th September.
Our runners are:
- Dawn Bailey, Head Chef, Tennyson Wharf
- Pam Towers, General Manager, Chester Court
- Fran Sharp, General Manager, The Spires and daughter Stephanie Sharp
- Vicky Paterson, Nurse, Hawthorns
- Zoe Postgate, General Manager, Chater Lodge
Now the world’s biggest Half Marathon, 57,000 people of all ages and abilities will be taking part in the 13.1 mile challenge from Newcastle to South Shields on the North East coast.
Our runners will be in distinguished company of some of the worlds’ best elite runners, including Sir Mo Farah who comments: “The Simplyhealth Great North Run is one of my favourite races, it’s something that I always look forward to and I can’t wait to be back on that start line in Newcastle in September.”
Our runners are also very excited about this challenge and are training hard ahead of the big day. Team Barchy is fundraising for Barchester's Charitable Foundation - a charity helping older people and adults living with a disability by offering grants to individuals and small groups/charities to help reduce isolation and loneliness and enable people to be active and engaged.
The team is hoping to raise at least £1,500 and please follow this link to support the team: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/TeamBarchyGNR2019
Good luck Team Barchy!
