Novice runner Roisin Doyle, General Manager at The Dales, Draughton, took part in a sponsored 10k to raise money for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation.
Roisin has only very recently taken up running. Initially, she thought that if she could run even 1k, she would be satisfied. However, Roisin was thrilled to share that she was ready for her first ever 10K run at Heaton Park earlier this month. For some, this may not seem like a significant distance, but for someone who said she couldn’t even run a bath just a few months ago, this journey has been nothing short of transformational.
Residents, their relatives and staff at The Dales care home were all very supportive as Roisin trained for her fundraising challenge and helped her fund raise.
Roisin said: “Taking part in this challenge has been a huge amount of fun and everyone at the home has been behind me all the way. It’s for such an important cause. I’m very glad to be able to do my bit to raise further awareness and money for our charity.”
Huge thank you to Roisin for raising a grand total of £450 by completing this challenge - fantastic achievement.
