We have a strong and energetic Barchester team taking part in the RideLondon-Essex 100 on Sunday 28th May raising money for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation. This will be the 10th anniversary of this hugely popular event, also known as the world’s greatest festival of cycling.

Our riders are:

  • Suzi Gibson, Quality Improvement and Regulation Manager, Cambridgeshire
  • Wayne Hughes, Regional Director, Hertfordshire
  • Raj Boodhoo, General Manager, Chalfont Lodge, Buckinghamshire

The Ford-RideLondon-Essex 100 route will set off from Victoria Embankment in central London, head past the Olympic Park and through the London boroughs of Westminster, City of London, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Hackney, Waltham Forest and Redbridge before coursing into Essex via Epping Forest.

Riders will then glide through some of the county’s most picturesque towns, villages and countryside – including Epping, Ongar, Great Dunmow, Felsted and Writtle – with a section of the route replicating the 2014 Tour de France stage that went through Essex and finished in London.

Once back in the capital, participants will complete their ride to rapturous applause at Tower Bridge – a jaw-dropping Finish Line for the 100-mile challenge.

Our riders are very excited about this 100 miles challenge and are training hard with now just over 7 weeks to go, in preparation for the big day.

The team is fundraising for Barchester's Charitable Foundation - a charity helping older people and adults living with a disability by offering grants to individuals and small groups/charities to help reduce isolation and loneliness and enable people to be active and engaged.

The riders are hoping to raise at least £400 each, and you can click these links to support your local rider:

Good luck to our three inspired riders with this very challenging bike ride!
