In September last year we awarded a funding contribution to 'Gelli Life for Living', a group set up to help reduce loneliness and isolation for those living with ill health or a disability in the Welsh valleys. On the 19th October, 33 members of the group went on a trip to Cadbury World .
These members welcomed this day so much after most of them had not been anywhere for over two years due to the pandemic. A lovely cream tea awaited them on arrival and lots of activities were organised throughout the day. To top the day off, they were very lucky to have a fantastic bus driver who made sure that everyone got home safely even though the members' lived throughout the Rhondda valley.
The feedback received highlighted how, on the way home, everyone felt so overwhelmed with their experience. One lady said that she would never forget such a wonderful day out!
We're so happy that our funding was put to such good use and made a difference to these people's lives.
