In October last year we awarded funding to St Francis Community Centre. They are an all-inclusive social hub of activity, who have served the local and wider community of Hinckley for the past 25 years. Our funding contribution enabled them to provide a traditional Christmas two Course meal and a table gift with Christmas festivities for the elderly at their Centre.
In their feedback report to us they said that the atmosphere was full of festive cheer and everyone enjoyed all the games and the food. With some money left over they were also able to provide some additional events and items. These included crackers, table gifts, a raffle and table games.
The beautiful Christmas dinner was served to their elderly members by their volunteers who also enjoyed joining in and taking part in the activities. The experience has had a very positive impact on the well-being and friendships of the group and has helped to boost everyone's mood.
