Cornerstone Benwell, a community charity based in Newcastle's West End, received funding from us for the purchase of art and cookery items for their friends at The Welcome Project. The items included wooden Advent Calendars, wooden box frames, wooden snowflakes plus cookery ingredients and tools.
Over the course of the sessions they had thirty-two individual friends join them. The Welcome Project have absolutely adored the new crafts and cookery sessions they have taken part in. The wooden advent calendars were a particular favourite! The participants were thrilled to have such a high quality piece to take home and display and use year after year.
They reported that two of their favourite memories from the sessions was Barbara making a stunning Box Frame picture as a gift for her mum for Mothers Day and also seeing Adam covered in icing! They all had a good laugh as they helped to clean him up… joking about how far he'd managed to spread the icing!
