Disability Snowsport UK (The Uphil Ski Club of Great Britain) received funding from us to enable them to purchase a Praschberger Mono Ski and essential accessories for their Snowsport School in Manchester. Their vision is of mountains and ski slopes free from barriers, where disabled people can learn and take part in snowsport alongside family, friends and peers.

One of their regular sit skiers was the first to try out the mono ski and absolutely loved it. She said "a mono ski, to some, is only a piece of equipment that facilitates the activity on the slope. That is true, but for others it is also a vehicle that facilitates freedom on the slope".

In terms of the impact the new equipment will have, it will open up a whole new world where it is felt in that moment that someone with disabilities is no longer in a minority group. The new mono ski will enable this charity to help mono skiers progress further, even to competitive levels.
