Great North Run coming up
/ August 2025We are delighted to have five highly committed Barchester runners taking part in the AJ Bell Great North Run on Sunday 7th September.
60,000 determined and dedicated runners make the Great North Run the World’s biggest and best half marathon. Famous for its inclusive atmosphere, unbeatable on-route entertainment and warm Geordie welcome, not to mention the millions raised each year for worthy causes, Great North Run magic can be hard to understand – until you’ve experienced it for yourself on the Newcastle to South Shields route.
Our runners are:
- Kirsty Taylor, Head of Activities, Chalfont Lodge in Chalfont, Buckinghamshire
- Becky Dearing, Health and Safety Coordinator, based in South West London
- Tom Hodges, Dementia Specialist Nurse, based in Cumbria
- Zsuzsanna Bodog, Care Assistant Red Oaks in Henfield, West Sussex
- Yvonne Hand, General Manager, Glenroyd in Blackpool, Lancashire
Our team is training hard ahead of the upcoming event – they are all keen runners fitting in their training around work and family commitments. Some have even had injury issues to contend with.
