Jubilant Barchester runners at the Great North Run
/ September 2025Huge congratulations to our fantastic Barchester runners Kirsty Taylor, Becky Dearing, Tom Hodges and Zsuzsanna Bodog, who completed the Great North Run route from Newcastle upon Tyne to South Shields on Sunday 7th September.

The Great North Run was a celebration of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, as a record 60,000 runners took part in the 44th edition of the world-famous half marathon.
Our runners did brilliantly, with Tom finishing in a great time of 2h03m, closely followed by Zsuzsanna in 2h07m.
This year's runners now have the very unique 2025 medal that features a mislabelled map of Sunderland and the River Wear, an error by the organisers, which caught the headlines this week.
Zsuzsanna Bodog commented: “It was a very good atmosphere. Big party, and the airplanes were awesome.”
The runners have also been very busy fundraising and have already raised around £2,500 to help older people and adults living a disability connect with others in their local community. There is still time to support the runners, and a huge thank you if you already have:
