Meaningful experiences
/ May 2026Funding was awarded to Eco Work- Shop CIC. ECO Work-Shop CIC is a not-for-profit, Community Interest Company (CIC) providing a Day Opportunity Service. Work-Shop offers purposeful, work-based activity sessions to adults with learning disabilities and autism who have high-level, lifelong, and often socially challenging disabilities
Our funding was used to deliver a variety of reward activities for adults with learning disabilities and autism, creating structured, supported opportunities where our participants can connect and enjoy experiences that others often take for granted. So far, they have hosted a fish and chip/karaoke night, as well as a bowling trip. The remainder of the funding will be used for further events planned for later in the year.
They reported to us that out of the 30 participants they support at ECO Work-Shop, 22 attended the fish and chip night, and 17 attended the bowling. They anticipate similar numbers will also attend the events planned for later in the year, which means they will have provided around 75 - 100 inclusive opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism.
One of their most memorable stories is the story of Callum. Callum has been a part of ECO Work-Shop since their inception back in 2013 and has always completed his tasks on a 1-to-1 basis. Despite this dedication to his work, he has always struggled with the idea of entering their main building and interacting with other participants. However, in late 2025, Callum set foot into their building for the very first time and hasn’t looked back since. He now attends weekly and went to his first ever ECO Work-Shop Coffee Morning, and participated in both the fish and chip, and bowling evenings. Their reward activities have provided the perfect opportunity for Callum to build relationships.
We are so glad that our funding was able to make a difference.
