Oakley Rural Day Centre

Earlier this year we awarded funding to Oakley Rural Day Centre. Their day centre has been open for 25 years providing a service to the elderly in Bedford Borough and surrounding villages. They have a great team of staff providing excellent support to their clients.

Regaining mobility

Headway Milton Keynes applied for a grant from us for new exercise equipment, which was successful. Each week they support 50+ brain injury survivors and within a week they host 4 one hour exercise sessions.

Mervin Knights Foundation Champion 2024

Mervyn Knights, Development and Standards Manager of Barchester Healthcare, was recently crowned as the national winner of the Foundation Champion category at the 2024 Barchester Care Awards on 23rd October.

Debbie's return to the great outdoors!

In the summer we awarded funding to Debbie, 39, from Hull. She was born with congenital spina bifida and our grant was used to purchase a new ergonomic wheelchair and power attachment which would enable the chair to be used independently.

Keeping the band together

We recently awarding funding to the Worsley Concert Band., who are a non-auditioned community concert band, which rehearses every Wednesday evening at the Wardley Community Centre in Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Creativity sessions for all

In May 2024 we were pleased to award funding to Starling Arts, a female-led community arts group based in Brighton and Hove, who promote the wellbeing of older people by offering free creative activities.

Tri-ride for Tigs

Funding was awarded in May to Mark (Tigs), who suffers from complex PTSD and chronic pain which affects his entire body. He also suffers with chronic fatigue and migraines.  He is unable to drive or work and is married with two young children.

Recently Carly Finch, who works as a Quality and Regulation Manager in the Barchester North Division, took a very brave decision.
