We contributed £750 towards this Mindful Garden Project for older people organised by Elders Voice, Kensal Green in North London.
The feedback received was overwhelming with over 50 older people living locally getting involved in the gardening works, regardless of mental and physical disabilities:
“We have observed a number of positive changes with our members. Having a green space where simple gardening work can be carried out means that people with dementia have a safe place where they can relax and get engaged in some meaningful work. Moreover, the members all gather in the garden, share laughs, stories and talk to each other more than they used to. Dementia and mental health problems can have a very negative impact on a person’s social life. Thanks to your donation, we were able to create a space where people can get social, healthier and happier.”
