Fiona McGill

Fiona McGill

Having graduated from Glasgow University, Fiona’s professional career started in hospital social work at the city’s Royal infirmary. On moving to England Fiona became interested in Mental Health social work and qualified as an Approved Social Worker.

She moved on to become Team manager with Solihull Social Services and then moved to the NHS to take up a senior management post in Older People’s MH services.

When Solihull Social Services and NHS combined to become a Care Trust in 2005, she returned to Solihull and took up the post of Service Manager. This was an especially exciting if challenging time as Fiona had always been committed to closer working relations between Health and Social care, convinced of  the huge benefits this could bring to patients and service users.

Unfortunately the Care Trust did not survive and in 2011 Fiona became Assistant Director of Adult Social Services in Solihull. She retired in August 2014 but remains deeply committed to supporting the most vulnerable members of our society and welcomes the opportunity to support the work of the trust.
