Jamie Hodgson

Jamie began working for Barchester Healthcare as an Activity Coordinator in January 2019 and has made a big impact in a short time. Having won the Star Stories award for great press coverage in 2019, he then won the Regional and National Award for Activity Coordinator of the Year 2020 at the Barchester Care Awards.

Well-loved by residents and families alike, Jamie is determined to ensure meaningful and memorable activities continue in the home and has prioritised family and community involvement.

Jamie has always had a charitable outlook and was first involved in volunteer work at 16, when he helped in the kitchen of the local homeless shelter. More recently he has raised money for the likes of Alderhey Children’s Hospital, The Alzheimer’s Society and local charity Defying Dementia, which has included a 10,000 foot skydive and summiting Ben Nevis overnight.

Before coming to Barchester, Jamie built up a wealth of life experience through international travel and English teaching in Asia and South America, particularly in China and Cambodia.
