New trustees Shona Conway and Suzi Gibson
/ May 2026We are delighted to announce the appointment of two new trustees to our board: Project Coordinator, Shona Conway, and Regulations and Quality Improvement Manager, Suzi Gibson. Long-standing Barchester employees and fundraisers for the Foundation, both new trustees bring a wealth of different experience to their much-deserved roles as trustees.
Shona Conway has worked with Barchester Healthcare for almost 16 years in a number of different roles across the business. Shona is a seasoned supporter and fundraiser for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation. Over the years she has taken part in a range of fundraising challenges, including the Virtual London Marathon in 2021, RideLondon in 2022, helping to organise and participate in the Tour de Barchester since 2022, and completing the National Three Peaks challenge in 2025. This year she is once again cycling in the Tour de Barchester and is planning a 50 mile Brighton to London sponsored walk with Suzi this summer.
Suzi Gibson has worked for Barchester Healthcare since 2008, beginning her career as a carer before progressing to become a nurse, and now she is a Quality Improvement and Regulation Manager. Alongside her professional journey, Suzi has been a dedicated supporter of the Foundation for many years, taking part in fundraising events such as the London Marathon, RideLondon, climbing Ben Nevis, multiple Tour de Barchester challenges, and the Three Peaks Challenge. Suzi has raised many thousands of pounds in support of the Foundation.
Simon McCall, Chair of Barchester’s Charitable Foundation and Barchester’s Chief Commercial Officer comments: “Both Shona and Suzi have been amazing advocates for the Foundation for many years, helping us to fundraise by taking part in lots of different challenges – they have covered an awful lot of miles between them! So it goes without saying that we are delighted to welcome them both onto the Barchester Foundation board. We are excited to have them join us and we are certain that their passion for the Foundation’s work will be hugely beneficial in helping us shape its future.”
