Barchester’s Charitable Foundation had an exceptional year in 2023, achieving a donation milestone of £225,000 which enabled us to provide vital help to a staggering 160 small groups and charities, plus 87 individuals in one year alone.

All your fundraising help change people’s lives. We have awarded over £225,000 in grants in 2023 to older people and adults living with a disability or mental health challenges, helping people connect and reconnect with others in their local community.

New Chairperson
New Chairperson
We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new Chairperson; Simon McCall, Barchester’s Commercial Director. After six full-filling years at the helm, Barchester’s CEO, Dr Pete Calveley, has decided it is time to hand over the reins to Simon. Dr Calveley will continue to play an important part in the running of the charity as a Trustee.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new trustee to our board; Shannon Cullen, who brings a wealth of experience from her current work in Barchester’s Queens Manor Care Home in Edinburgh, and her voluntary work in the community.
Shannon joined Barchester Healthcare in May 2021 as Head of Lifestyle and Enrichment at Queens Manor and was quickly promoted to her current role of Senior Head of Lifestyle & Enrichment in August 2021.
