Milan Senior Welfare Organisation
Milan Senior Welfare Organisation
We are very pleased to have been able to make a funding contribution to Milan Senior Welfare Organisation, who recently won the best charity project of the year award at the Scottish Asian Business Awards.
Our funding was spent on providing transport to and from Milan’s day care provision for older people. Providing transport enables the older people to remain independent and access the amenities delivered by this charity, such as hot meals, activities and informative workshops.

Jeanette Gill Special Award for Veterans Woodcraft CIC
In March this year Veterans Woodcraft CIC was awarded our £15,000 Jeanette Gill Gold Special Award towards tools and machinery for their woodcraft workshops. Due to their rapid recent growth and the fallout from the Covid pandemic they were seeing a huge increase in the number of people seeking help with their mental health issues and searching for a pathway for reintegration with their local community after spending so long in social isolation.
Dementia Support Hampshire & Isle of Wight
Dementia Support Hampshire & Isle of Wight
In April this year we awarded a funding contribution to Dementia Support Hampshire & IOW.
They were raising funds to launch support groups providing a safe space for people with dementia, family, or caregivers to access a range of free subsidised and personalised services. These included activities such as counselling, therapies, peer support groups, gentle exercise, and the arts - such as a memory choir, music therapy and social event/entertainment.
Hurst Bowling Club
Hurst Bowling Club
We were pleased to have had the opportunity to award a funding contribution to Hurst Bowling Club back in March this year. The grant was used for the purchase of three sets of woods (bowls) and three carriers. These woods are, apparently, the smallest adult woods to date. The indent finger holds are suitable for elderly bowlers and for those experiencing a reduction in hand/arm strength.

Back in February we awarded a funding contribution to Brighton & Hove Speak Out. This funding has been used to support fortnightly drop-in sessions. During the pandemic sessions were held online with participants attending via zoom. Sessions cautiously returned to face-to-face meetings at their central Brighton premises in November 2021.

Hertfordshire based Community Interest Company 'Active in the Community' were the recipients of a funding contribution from us in January this year. Their Forever Cycling East Herts project uses static floor bikes to get older adults more physically active. They project a route onto a screen for the users to follow. This means that older adults can virtually cycle around Paris or Sydney from the comfort of their own community centre.
